LIGHT ON: Marco Dabbicco | The Islands

Marco Dabbicco is an Italian photographer based in Milan, Italy. He has over seven years of shooting experience, and while he primarily works in portraiture, he works with interior photography, artwork and promotional shots.

Presenting his new photo series “The Islands“, Marco Dabbicco says: “The serie consists of deliberately ambiguous images in which the subject is not immediately recognizable. The technique used is designed to create a sense of uncertainty, allowing to try different poses to, consequently, obtain different results”.

“The images are part of a study around the human body, about light and how light shapes and represents it“.

“The images presented are photographs, in the sense that they are not graphic images or digital alterations of bodies, but real photographs obtained with the effect of light: the only modifications I have been made is a strong contrast and a black and white setting“.
