“Passion White” video by Martyna Iwańska

Martyna Iwanska is a director and a screenwriter of short films, commercials, fashion videos and music videos.

Her video “Passion White” strives to achieve austerity, simplification of form and mathematical precision. It is an attempt at finding out if it is possible to create realistic tension in a sterile, minimalistic space resembling a white canvas.

Each frame represents separate micro world, which carries primary, raw emotions. Unhurried pictures and perverse repetition of sounds are set out to engage the viewer in a specific, dreamy state of hypnosis.

Martyna received the award for the Best Director at the Music Video Festival – YACH 2014. Her film “Island of Happiness” has been selected for the prestigious selection Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival, and her music video for the song “Uncounscious” was qualified for Polish and international festivals, including: Williamsburg International Film Festival in New York, Short Waves Grand Prix, Berlin Music Video Award and the International Music Video Festival in Paris.

She was part of the Female Director Showcase, which took place during the Los Angeles Music Video Festival. Acting since 2011 as CEO of the Film Foundation Multioptyka supporting creativity of young artists from film market, she has worked for brand such as Tymbark, Kubus, ING, H&M, Cerutin, Lidl and Universal Music Poland.
