Gabriel Isak was born in 1990 in Huskvarna, Sweden. An early gift from his father would form his future and the way he would communicate with the world, a small compact camera which he would use to document life around him.
Photography quickly turned into a passion where Gabriel would uses himself as the subject, creating art that would depict reality as he perceives it.
Through his creative work, Gabriel expresses his vision of ‘being’ by creating surreal scenes with the use of digital techniques. His objective is to bring his experiences to life in a way that’s relatable to others.
“I use photography as a metaphor for experiences of the soul by creating photographs that are simple in form, but rich in ideas and emotions. My imagery entails surreal and melancholic scenes inspired by the inner world of dreams and psychology, where I invite the viewer to interact with the internal world of solitary figures who symbolize our own unconscious states.
The objective of my art is to reflect human experiences in my photography that will allow the spectator to reflect on their own journey”. Gabriel is currently residing in San Francisco where he is pursuing his dream as a photographer at Academy of Art University.
